Time to get cracking, South Florida. Stone crab season kicked off Monday, which means those plump, sweet claws have now landed at a raw bar near you.

Where to find them? Here are some good options. The cost will depend on market prices — they fluctuate throughout the season, which runs through May 15.

SEAFOOD BAR AT THE BREAKERS

The iconic resort will serve stone crabs of various sizes at its updated Seafood Bar. You’ll enjoy these claws with traditional mustard dipping sauce and a splendid ocean view.

Seafood Bar at The Breakers: 1 S. County Road, 655-6611

PB CATCH

A seafood lover can always count on PB Catch’s extensive raw bar to celebrate stone crab season. In fact, the restaurant kicked off the season with a “stone crab soiree” Tuesday night.

COD AND CAPERS

This family-owned seafood market and café is stone-crab central during season. In addition to offering fresh claws at the market, Cod and Capers hosts stone crab specials at its café on Wednesday nights from 5 to 8 p.m. Claws will be available at the market and at the café (served with coleslaw and mustard sauce), sold at market price in both areas.

Cod & Capers: 1201 U.S. Hwy 1, North Palm Beach; 622-0963

CITY OYSTER

If you’re on Atlantic Avenue and you’ve got a colossal craving for claws, you’ll find satisfaction at City Oyster. In fact, the only size of stone crab claw this Atlantic Avenue restaurant is offering this season is colossal. The raw bar will sell them by the piece at market prices.

City Oyster and Sushi Bar: 213 Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach; 272-0220

BONEFISH GRILL

This upscale national chain serves stone crabs at all its Florida restaurants, starting Monday. The cracked claws are sold by the pound with a side of Bonefish’s mustard sauce.
