That seasonal drink at Starbucks, including the location in The Esplanade, may get truckloads of buzz every autumn; but now there are other pumpkin-spiked goodies around town, too.
Take Piccolo Gelato, 66 Via Mizner: Late last week, the shop introduced pumpkin spice gelato, a chilled-treat flavor that will be available at the store until about Thanksgiving, said Piccolo Gelato’s general manager, Linda Guardascione.
The pumpkin spice gelato is made with pumpkin purée and pumpkin pie-style spices, among other things. “We have it every day now,” Guardascione said. “It’s been pretty popular and will stay that way for a while.”
At Celis Produce in Royal Poinciana Plaza, look for a pumpkin spice acai bowl, a daily special that began appearing last week. It features pumpkin spice-accented granola, peanut butter, apple and banana and a topping of cinnamon.
Elsewhere in Palm Beach, pumpkin meets booze.
For instance, at pan-Asian restaurant Echo, 230 Sunrise Ave., an `Asian Pumpkin Martini’ now is featured for the Halloween season. It’s made with house-infused `kobacha’ wine and Japanese pumpkin vodka.
Another pumpkin cocktail in town can be found at The Breakers’ HMF, 1 S. County Road.
That mixed drink is called the Dark & Stormy and it features Zacapa Rum and ginger beer.
As for the seasonally available Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks, the coffee drink, popularly known as the PSL among Starbucks loyalists, has been an annual autumn special since 2003.
The Starbucks location in the Esplanade, 150 Worth Ave., also features other pumpkin-flavored items, such as pumpkin spice chai tea and pumpkin bread.
